Went to order direct from the fridge company and was shocked at the price they wanted. Searched the part number on Amazon and found it at a significantly lower price. Promptly received the part. Took about 15 minutes to remove and install new part. Fridge and Freezer have been maintaining proper temperature for over 6 weeks now.

This replacement control immediately resolved the intermittent fluctuating temperature problem in our refrigerator/freezer. It only took approximately 10 minutes to remove the old failing control and to install this new replacement. We save a lot of money compared to calling for service repair technician and marked up pricing for the replacement control.

Works for now but will update in regards to future performance. Would be 5 star but the end of the sensor wire had a larger tip than usual that made getting the capillary tube from the old one on to the new one a real fight. Took an hour to do that alone. The tube that comes on this one is just a protective sleeve to be discarded. It's not the same as the tube that's on the old one.I think a lot of the issues that arise after the first few months of use is that bi-metal thermostats, by their nature, kinda settle into their long term performance characteristics. This is why they have an adjustment screw. This I can handle and I understand it from my HVAC experiences with simple dial thermostats. I'm more bothered by the deformation at the end of the sensor wire on my particular purchase.

My refrigerator just started to stop cooling, I hit the area on.top where the controls are and it would work for a bit and stop cooling. I read online this normally is a thermostat sticking, so I order this part and watched a youtube video on how to replace it. replacing the part was very easy, I didn't even need to unplug the refrigerator but I suggest you do for safety. Mine had a cover and when removed I just unplugged the power to the panel, replaced part and worked. I did have a freezing issue, these are universal so where I had my old temp ser at the middle setting, this one is set to around 5 settings to left, once you figure out the sweet spot your good. Saved me a repair call and got my 13 year old fridge working like new.

First, let me say that Partshouse was great. I ordered the part on Thursday, and it was delivered on Monday with standard shipping. The control fixed the problem with my refrigerator getting too warm. The part was exactly as described, and even had the plastic sleeve already installed.I watched the Youtube video on how to replace the control for my model of Whirlpool refrigerator and everything went as shown. I agree with many of the prior comments that the control needs to be set around "1" (warmer setting) and that the adjustment screw needed a little more that a third of a turn clockwise. Now the refrigerator runs like new and keeps the temperature just about perfect.

I have a newer kenmore coldspot sided by side. It started freezing fresh food and then totally went out altogether. I called sears and repairman and was told it would cost about $300 or more to fix and that is was prob. the compressor. Wrong!! I just had a feeling that is was the thermostat. I looked everywhere and this one was half the price than anywhere else and free shipping. So happy to have found it. Frige is working like new.

I bought this thinking it was an "exact" replacement for my thermostat, but it is not. It looks the same but the part number is different. I wish they had stated it was a generic part on their description. I don't mind generic parts as long as I know that's what I'm getting and they work correctly.The one I received froze everything in my refrigerator. I turned the dial as warm as it would go to no avail. I started adjusting the little adjustment screw to see if it had been set wrong at the factory, but that didn't help either. The thermostat either let things get too hot and wouldn't turn the fridge on or would continue to freeze everything.I sent them an email through Amazon explaining my problem, but have received no response after five days.
